A 4067 g large broken stone half covered with a well preserved, finely cracked fusion crust and deep regmaglypts, showing a light gray matrix with small protruding metallic grains was found by a person prospecting for meteorites in january 2003 in the Sahara.
Mineralogy and classification (B. Devouard, UBP; M. Messaoudi, H. Afalfiz and D. Belhai, USTHB): Mean olivine, Fa 19.5 (range Fa 18.7-20.7, 4 analyses); mean low-Ca pyroxene, Fs 18.5 (range Fs 17.5-21.8, 12 analyses); weathering grade, W1. A cut reveals metal-rich veins (S3).
Specimens: type specimen, 24.1 g, MNHNP;
Main mass : "Caillou Noir".[Igaren is the local place name according natives. (Sahara)]
